Not Listed: Female Assassin/BlackOps Female (no HD model available) The head is more round and detailed, and his briefcase is slightly smaller and thinner. The suit is a deeper shade of blue and is more round.
While the design of the G-Man remains the same, the HD version of the model differs slightly. Like the Demo Grunt, the Commander Grunt also wears a black beret, contrasting the red beret worn by the normal model. The head model for the Commander Grunt, is a reskinned version of the Demolitions Grunt, with lighter skin and a clean face. Like the other grunts, this grunt shares a body model, aswell as a head. The texture for the new head also comes with a thin moustache. The head has been remodeled, giving the Demo Grunt a black beret and removes the cigar. the Demo Grunt also has a different head model. This grunt model also shares a body with the normal grunt, but with darker skin. It shares the head design, being a balaclava with the eyes covered by glasses, with the normal model, but is remodeled to accommodate for the HD pack. The shotgun grunt shares a body model with the regular grunt, but has a different head model. This bulletproof functionality is retained in the HD version of the Normal Grunt. Something I've noticed while studying the models is that the helmet for the Regular Grunt is actually bulletproof, similar to the helmet that the security guards wear. All of the grunts have a different idle pose in the HD pack, which removes their hunch and makes them stand up straight like the hardened military units they are. The shape of his head has been made to look more human, and his military vest has been re-modeled, along with his arms and legs. The regular grunt has undergone some very noticable changes. Black Mesa is completely free to download and play all that is required is Steam and the Source SDK Base 2007 tool installed (free download within Steam, here’s a quick video on where to find it).
For now, there are direct downloads from the website here. Now the game is finally available it was one of the first projects chosen for Steam’s Greenlight program and will eventually be released directly from the Steam store. In September the project leader, Carlos “cman2k” Montero confirmed a September 14 release date for Black Mesa.īlack Mesa is finally here, and it makes Half-Life look better than ever.
The project started back in 2004 after Valve released their new Source engine yet failed to satisfy fans with a remake of Half-Life in the new engine titled (appropriately enough) “Half-Life: Source.” After some progress and a bit of positive press attention the Black Mesa project went quiet and was presumed dead for a number of years, until in June of 2012 when the Black Mesa Modification Team offered new media once their Facebook profile reached 20,000 likes.
